I'm pretty sure that's not a giant sandworm of Dune.
It could be. This is a desert planet, after all.
Well, sort of, I guess. But even for a desert, Lucky Palms still has too much water to sustain a sandworm based ecosystem.
I still think it's a sandworm.
I think maybe you've been hitting a little too hard on the spice, cat.
(Seriously, why would a cat think about Dune sandworms while doing a 'freak out' interaction?)
Back to our regularly scheduled program, Sitara goes into labor just as her parents are getting ready to woohoo in her bed.
"What did you do to me? I didn't wish for this! I'm in agony!"
I had to ensure the next generation, is all. Jut head over to the hospital and it will all be over soon. You'll never have to do this again. Unless you wish for it.
"Wish for this? Are you crazy?"
Sitara returns from the hospital a few hours later with the girl both she and Tim had wished for. Her name is Lalita, and she's a Natural Cook and Charismatic.
The points Tim got for fulfilling the baby gender wish was enough for him to be able to change his LTW. He now wants to be a Rock Star, which is much easier than being a One Sim Band.
Lalita makes 3 grandchildren total. Kiran is nursing a wish for 5. Kesari has yet to contribute her hare of grandchildren.
Chelsea wished to hire a butler. So, here's Theodore.
You know, I"m pretty sure that woohooing in your butler's bed constitutes as some kind of harassment. At the very least, he might quit on you if you keep fouling his bed.
"Nah. Theo is cool. He won't mind."
"Sir, I couldn't help but notice that my bed was unmade this afternoon...Did you and Madam perchance mess it up?"
"It wasn't us. Maybe the gnomes did it?"
Despite her insistence that she wouldn't ever wish for another child, she and Tim did roll simultaneous Have Baby wishes the day after Lalita was born.
Hey, Theo, dude, I'm pretty sure this isn't part of your job description...
"I'm just making sure they do it in their own bed."
"When you get a little bigger, we'll play toys together, Lalita!"
Yeah, hate to burst your bubble Tim, but the range of child interactions is really limited. There's no playing 'with'. You can play next to each other, that's about it. Sorry.
"Seriously? I can't even play with my kid? EA sucks!"
Yeah, tell me about it.
Sitara gets her baby bump in the same spot where she went into labor before, while sitting at her writing desk. Because, all her other wishes still involve writing, I think now she going for 40 novels or something. She's currently bringing in 24k a week in royalties.
Timothy rolls a wish to increase his gambling skill, so he's off to the casino on his day off.
I was all a-tinlge with excitement, since this would be my first time actually using the casino stuff. Will Tim blow the family fortune? Will he become addicted and have to attend gambler's anonymous meetings?
After a few Sim hours watching a bunch of repetitive animations, Tim breaks even. Yay?
Outside, the gnomes appear to be engaged in some form of ancestor worship.
Theo has been very helpful since he was hired, making the beds, clearing plates, taking the bad food out of the fridge...but after a few days I realize that he has some really bad personal hygiene, and is trailing streams of green funk wherever he goes.
Artistic gnome renders. Don't judge me.
So, Chelsea rolls a wish to skinny dip with Theo. I indulge her fancy in the hopes that enough time in the hot tub might help old stinky with his green funk problem. His 'naked' hair kind of surprised me.
"I am a man of mystery."
Kiran got an opportunity where he had to get 10k in campaign contributions. So he headed out to the cafe next door and asked a few people to fund his campaign. And then as soon as he got the 10k, he got the opportunity fail music...I have no idea why. But, oh well. At least I got to get a picture of Suresh as an elder. Kiran and Chelsea will be aging up next time I play.
Pregnant Tamira drops by for a visit. This will be her second child. And with Sitara pregnant, too, Kiran has got his five grandkids wish in the bag.
"I'm on a hygiene strike," Theo explain to Tamira, "I refuse to bathe until your parents stop using my bed as their personal love nest."
"Yeah, good luck with that."
Sitara is way too serious for her mom and older sister. She's reading a book for a work opportunity. She'll be getting a promotion on her next workday, probably, and that will take her to level 10 of her career and fulfill her LTW. And I will be in a position to pick a child as heir. That should be interesting.
Lalita ages up to toddler. Sitara rolls a wish to teach her to walk, but everyone is too tired to do that tonight.
Lalita hasn't learned to talk yet, so she cannot adequately express her disgust at being held prisoner in the cloud of green funk.
Seriously, Theo, take a damn shower sometime will you?
"OMG!OMG!OMG!"
"Mom, it's just labor. Sheesh."
The overjoyed parents (you can tell by Sitara's expression) bring home a son this time. His name is Dhanvin, which means Archer in Sanskrit.
Hey! EA finally threw in a funny! A non-sequitur funny, but hay! Cats bugging out over sandworms made me lol at least.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the heir and a spare and may your wishacy continue to thrive for another... yeah you get it. At least she finally got with the program and wished for another without your intervention. Finally!
Lol! Did Theo come that way or did you help that along? That's great. I've only ever had female butlers arrive when I ordered one. Though, phew! Take a bath dude! That's just not cool. You'd think it would be rather counter productive to his helping with cleaning around the house when he, himself, is filthy. And I'd already scrolled through the pic of skinny dipping in the hot tub to the text since hubs is home today and when you said naked hair I had quite a different pic going on. *facepalm
So is Lalita talking yet?
I'm just surprised cats are even aware of Dune...
DeleteIt is a relief to finally get an heir and a spare for next gen. Sitara really kept me waiting.
I didn't touch Theo at all, he's basic vanilla. I rarely order butlers because I've had come pretty crappy luck with them, like having them take off and hang around a community lot all day and still charging my family for 'services'. Theo at least cleans the house...though not himself, lol. So the family has a constant 'disgusted' moodlet going on because of his funk cloud.
LOL, this blog is PG, there won't be any real naked beyond the occasional butt shot. So naked hair was just the hair he wears when naked. Which was delightfully random.
Lalita is not talking yet. I haven't played since the boy was born (that pic of Sitara returning from the hospital is the last thing I did before quitting last time. So, Sitara still has her wish to teach her t walk, but no one so far has wished to teach her to talk. Poor thing will have to suffer in silence for awhile, I guess.
I had nightmares after the first time I watched Dune. Still, yeah, strange a CAT would worry about it.
ReplyDeleteThat last pic makes me want to put the two of them in front of a farmhouse and give one of them a pitchfork. Such powerful emotion! >.>
I love how you're using your gnomes! I see the bunnies are doing what bunnies do.
I don't know why, but they love to gather around the statues. What I also don't get is that I'll have statues show up yet not lose any of my gnomes. ???
I've never seen that sad one. Which one is that? Maybe I need to PLAY sims again. :)
I'm a huge fan of the Dune book series...the movie was incredibly well casted, but it just...no. They had to lose so much to squeeze it into a 2 hour movie.
DeleteLOL, I know, they're totally American Gothic. Which reminds me tat I wanted to do a series of famous painting with Sims. So many projects...
I'm not using the gnomes, the gnomes are using me, lol. I've had the gnome statue show up on lots that never had a gnome to lose, lol. But I've also had elder gnomes die and leave that statue behind.
The emo gnome is the teen phase of the gomes. If you have two or more base game magic gnomes on the lot, after Gen they they start 'breeding'. Suddenly, a baby gnome appears, and it ages to teen, adult and elder. And then it dies.
The EP gnomes don't breed or age, though, so you'll only see it if you have the base game magic gnomes on the lot.
I'm gathering from the comments that the beginning sandworm thing was from a book/film. I've not seen it, or heard of it, so can't comment much on that.
ReplyDeleteYAY! Sitara finally played ball and wished for a spare! Now you have a choice of heir for next gen :D
I've never had a butler. Is there not a 'go shower you stinky, disgusting slave!' interaction? I guess you'll just have a smelly butler forever, but you could technically get rid of him without wishes... I hear fire is a good cleanser...
Thanks for the gnome fact! I still only have one gnome on my legacy lot, which is very weird, I've had aging gnomes before, but not noticed the teen stage. That's pretty cool :D (That's how I looked back in the day. Minus the hat)
No goth look is complete without a pointy gnome hat...
DeleteYeah, the sandworm is a prominent feature of the Dune book series and later film. It's a gigantic thing that pops out of the sand (Dune is a desert planet. Unlike Lucky Palms, it has no water except a very little on the polar caps, in tie form of ice). But I won't bore you with Dune's eco system, lol. Iwas surprised to see the sandworm in the cat's thoughtbubble, though. It's not even current pop culture, the movie dates back to the 80s and I don't even know when the books were first published, but I was in high school when I read them. So, a million years ago?
I do have a choice for next gen! And the rules let you pass th torch as soon as the current heir achieves the LTW. Both Sitara's kids will be toddlers when that happens. I'll wait to declare an heir when they are old enough to have wishes. I am kind of looking forward to having a child heir. And I may even do an heir vote this time, since I don't have any clear favorite yet.
There is no interaction for telling the butler to shower, sadly. You can ask him to cook, ask for advice or, ew, ask for a massage, but I can't do anything to make him shower.
I'm currently working on a new house I'm going to move Sitara, Tim & the kids into. I'll be leaving Kiran and Chelsea behind. I don't know if the butler will stay with them or automatically go with the Sims that move. I guess I'll see.
ROFL. Sheesh, Theo, the job description for butler kind of indicates be all proper and shit, which includes personal hygiene, especially if you're living in your client's house. The one gnome render kind of looked like a goth gnome. XD
ReplyDeleteSo now Suresh is the Lord of Elders. LOL, it was cool seeing him again. Oh opportunity fail music. I think I heard it once and I had too many Sims in my house so I don't even know who it was that failed. Sitara seems like an incredibly boring person. LOL.
I know, being stinky and unbathed is bad form for a butler, lol.
DeleteThe goth gnome is the teen stag of the gnome that ages. Gen made it so that the base game magic gnomes would spawn babies, and age. They go from baby to teen to adult and then elder. And then they die. I do love that all teen gnomes are goth, though.
Suresh is the Lord of Elders, lol. It is sad we don't see him as much since he moved out, so I was glad to get a chance to see him. Even if it was just because of a weird opportunity fail. Mostly when that happens to me it's because it times out before I get to it, or it's one of the ones where you have to turn it in to work, and the deadline expires because you had a bunch of days off and couldn't go to work.
But this one 'failed' as soon as it was comleted, so it must be broken or something. Nt that it matters.
Sitara has been a kind of dull heir. Her wishes are mostly about her career and writing, so there's not much else I can do with her. I'm hoping the next gen will liven things up.
Lol love the gnomies
ReplyDeleteGnomes are awesome.
DeleteYaaay more Archers.
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling that would happen. You'd have to force the first kid, then they'd make more for you just to be annoying. I love your butler. =)
The world can always use more Archers. =D
DeleteYou know, in Mass Effect, every time I have to go to the Acheron system in the Styx Theta cluster, I think of you.
I kind of figured she'd roll more wishes for babies once the first was born. I'm happy to have two potential choices for heir, and once I actually pass the torch I will be free to ignore any wishes she has for more.
If you love the butler so much, why don't you marry him? =P
But, yeah, he and the gnomes are providing all the entertainment value these days.
Cool. I'm going to misuse several more Greek names at... some point.
DeleteI remember I tried a butler back in my pre-legacy days. A female sim in the house woohoo'd with him, which pissed off the guy who was her romantic interest that lived in the house (basically the household was a rock star and some women...). The rock star and butler were fighting so much, I had the rock star fire him... then the butler cried on the guy's shoulder. D: I felt so bad.
I bet that butler wish has been a huge benfit! Since he'll just clean things up, butlers are TOO good in the game they even cook for you. If only he cleaned himself.
ReplyDeleteThat's how sims are! Once they have a baby they want 9 more!
Mmm, the butler isn't as huge a benefit now as he would have been in Gen 1. At this point al the plumbing is upgraded to self-cleaning and this gen is mostly pretty good at cleaning up their dishes. And withis stink, my Sims end up with a disgusted moodlet ll the time as bad as if they had dirty plates around. But, at least he is entertaining, lol.
DeleteIt's true. Sims do wish for more babies once they've had one.
Well, if it wasn't a wishacy, you simple direct one of the sims to woohoo with the butler in the shower, once he gets in the shower (or about ready to get in there), you cancel the interaction---so no woohoo occurs, but the butler takes a shower. Works on roomies too, lol :P
ReplyDeleteI have never see that Dune sandworm thought bubble before. That is too cool! I had a huge crush on Kyle MacLachlan after that movie, oh my goodness, those blue blue eyes, with his black hair! *sigh* lol They did a decent enough job with the movie I think, but the books are way better. Well, the books are almost always better than the movies, lol Hmmm, your stories cause me to go down sci-fi memory lane! Love it! =)
Yay for heirs and spares! Lalita is adorable, maybe she is hugging the stink to keep the sandworms away? lol
I think the gnomes are cute---but they always cause my game to lag---so I tend to delete them whenever one pops up. I like your gnomy art though. Very stain glass haute couture, lol
That last picture, priceless. =D
LOL, thanks for the tip on getting butlers to bathe! But, yeah, I'm not sure it would be allowed in a wishacy, though I guess if I get desperate enough...it's just weird that he won't bathe.
DeleteI've seen the sandworm thoughtbubble before. It's the skittish trait, it makes the cats randomly do a 'freak out' interaction with some random object. But I think you only ever see it in that interaction. It is a weird thing for a cat to worry about, though. And yeah, Kyle MacLachlan is yummy. I loved him in Twin Peaks, too. They did okay with the the Dune movie, it's just, when you know the books, well, as usual, the books are so much richer.
If I were Lalita I might rather face a sandworm that the butler's stink, lol.
I have so many gnomes! It's those bunnies, they appear when Sims woohoo in Spring. And as we've seen, this legacy gets a lot of woohoo in all seasons. If I had kept all the original gnomes from Gen 1, I can just imagine how packed this house would be!
LOL< yes, Sitara's expression when bringing her new baby home in the last pic was pretty priceless, lol.
hahahaha Theo, ew.... I haven't had a butler in a long LONG time but wow he won't bathe. Gross and you can't direct them either. :(
ReplyDeleteAww congrats on the baby girl and boy. She is a cutie and I can't wait to see what he looks like as a toddler. I am glad she and Tim both rolled have baby wants and she want to teach some skills. YAY maybe her family genes are finally starting to kick in.
Me too, I haven't had a butler in ages. Sadly, his hygiene issues make him more of a problem, since I was at a point where the family was actually was okay about cleaning stuff up on their own. So he isn't really needed and his stink causes a bad moodlet for anyone near him.
DeleteI am happy to have two choices for heir, and that Sitara at least got one wish to teach Lalita to walk.
Soooo many bunny gnomes, lol! I like the artsy gnome pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love that you want to give Tim a gambling addiction!
After her parents, I don't blame Theo for wanting to make sure Sitara and Tim are using their own bed. It's a good thing he didn't have stink fumes at that point, now that would be creepy!
Lol at Sitara. Her mother and sister are just too childish for her taste.
Yes I can tell from her expression that Sitara is just too proud to be carrying on this legacy. "Okay, I had the baby. Can I get back to writing now?"
It's a bunny gnome gang, lol. The artsy gnome pics were fun.
DeleteA gambling addiction might have added some drama to this generation, But after Tim got his one wish to improve his gambling skill, that was it. And he didn't even lose any money.
I do feel bad for the butler in that Kiran and Chelsea were woohooing in it before he'd even slept in it once. I mean, ew. But it' not like he's finicky about hygiene or anything. >.>
In my other wishacy, Bonehilda used to like to 'watch' too. Creepy.
Sitara is just so serious, she's all career and writing. But I did at least get two babies out of her, lol.
hahahahaha Theo and the bed... that's hysterical!
ReplyDeleteLalita is adorable. :)
